It is estimated that over 4 billion of vehicle tyres have reached the end of their life worldwide1. With the rise in automobile ownership across the globe, this number is expected to grow at a staggering rate of about 1 billion tyres each year2. Scrap tyres do not biodegrade. Consequently, they are accumulating in the world’s soil and becoming a major source of landfill congestion. In view of these global challenges, environmental concerns continue to gain momentum, prompting individuals, communities, governments, and regulators across the world to work towards more sustainable future.
At Terra Rubber, we turn this waste problem into a green opportunity by channelling finite resources where tyre production is largely dependent on, at the end of their life back into production. Scrap or waste tyres are thoroughly sourced and segregated based on their characteristics, in order to create reclaim products which are uniform and consistent. These reclaim products can be utilised as raw materials to compliment or partially substitute conventional virgin rubber, thus driving supply chain towards greener and more sustainable practices.
